+91-8057146497Gujarat is India's most geographically diverse state — from the salt-white expanse of the Rann of Kutch (world's largest salt desert at 7,500 sq km) to the tropical dry forests of Gir (the only place on Earth with wild Asiatic Lions). It is also the state with India's highest density of UNESCO heritage — Ahmedabad (UNESCO World Heritage City), Rani ki Vav stepwell (UNESCO) and the Archaeological Site of Lothal (Indus Valley Civilization).
The Rann Utsav (November–February) is Gujarat's grandest tourism event — a 3-month festival at Dhordo village in the White Rann featuring traditional Kutchi music, handicrafts, camel rides, cultural performances and the signature experience of walking barefoot on the salt flat under a full moon. Gir National Park has only around 600 Asiatic Lions remaining — a safari sighting here is one of the world's rarest wildlife encounters. Permits are strictly limited and sell out weeks ahead in peak season.
Somnath Temple — the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas, destroyed and rebuilt 6 times through history — and Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka (believed to be the kingdom of Lord Krishna) form one of India's most sacred pilgrimage circuits. The Statue of Unity (182 metres, world's tallest, honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) near Kevadia is a modern landmark. Best time: October to March. No state entry permit is required for Gujarat.
Gujarat is famous for the Rann of Kutch (world's largest salt desert), Gir National Park (only home of Asiatic Lions), Somnath and Dwarka temples (major Jyotirlinga pilgrimage), the Statue of Unity (world's tallest at 182m), UNESCO-listed Ahmedabad city, Rani ki Vav stepwell and the annual Rann Utsav cultural festival.
October to March is ideal for all Gujarat destinations. Rann Utsav runs November to February — the best time for Kutch. Gir National Park is open October to June and completely closed July to September. December–January is the most comfortable for sightseeing. Avoid May–June in Kutch due to extreme heat above 45°C.
Yes — Gir safari permits are genuinely limited and sell fast. Online booking opens 90 days in advance at e-gujforest.gov.in. During peak season (November–February), slots fill weeks ahead. Tour Venture India monitors availability and pre-books permits the moment they open for your travel dates. Booking us is the most reliable way to secure Gir safari slots.
Rann Utsav is Gujarat Tourism's 3-month cultural festival at Dhordo village near the White Rann of Kutch, usually November to February. It features a tent city, traditional Kutchi handicraft market, folk music and dance shows every evening, cultural performances, camel rides, ATV rides and the signature experience of walking barefoot on the vast white salt flat under a full moon.
Rann of Kutch alone: 3–4 nights. Gir National Park alone: 2–3 nights. Complete Gujarat (Rann + Gir + Somnath + Dwarka + Statue of Unity + Ahmedabad): 8–10 days. We offer both focused short packages and complete Gujarat circuits. Tell us your priorities and we design the itinerary around them.
