As experienced tour operators in Karnataka, Tour Venture India designs Karnataka tour packages that capture the extraordinary diversity of this south Indian state — from the regal grandeur of Mysuru Palace to the boulder-strewn ruins of Hampi, from the mist-wrapped coffee estates of Coorg to the sacred beaches of Gokarna, and from the tiger-roamed forests of Bandipur to the Hoysala stone masterpieces of Belur and Halebidu. Karnataka rewards every type of traveller with experiences that are genuinely unlike anything else in India.
Mysuru (Mysore) is Karnataka's crown jewel — the royal city of the Wadiyar dynasty. The Mysuru Palace (Amba Vilas Palace), built in 1912 in the Indo-Saracenic style, is India's second most visited monument after the Taj Mahal, receiving 6 million visitors annually. Its 97,000 light bulbs illuminate the facade each evening and during the Dasara festival (October) the entire city transforms into a 10-day spectacle of royal processions, illuminated elephants, folk art and cultural performances recognised by UNESCO. The nearby Brindavan Gardens (musical fountains at dusk), Srirangapatna (Tipu Sultan's island fortress), Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill and the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary complete a Mysuru circuit of remarkable richness.
Hampi in Ballari district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of global significance — the ruins of Vijayanagara, once the second largest medieval city on Earth (15th–16th century, 500,000 population). The Vittala Temple's stone chariot (India's most photographed monument) and musical pillars that resonate different notes when tapped, the living Virupaksha Temple (9th century, still receiving worship), the Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stables and Queen's Bath are scattered across a 26 sq km landscape of ancient granite boulders and banana groves on the Tungabhadra River. Cycling through Hampi's ruins at sunrise — when the ancient stones glow amber — is one of India's most transcendent travel experiences.
Coorg (Kodagu) — the Scotland of India — is Karnataka's most beloved hill station at 1,525 m in the Western Ghats. India's largest coffee-growing region (Arabica and Robusta), its mist-wrapped estates stretch across rolling hills, with waterfalls at every turn (Abbey Falls, Iruppu Falls), elephants at Dubare Elephant Camp on the Cauvery River and tigers in Nagarhole National Park (Rajiv Gandhi NP). The Kodava warrior people — with their distinctive cuisine (Pandi Curry, Kadambuttu), unique customs and matrilineal traditions — make Coorg a cultural experience as much as a natural one. Our Karnataka packages expertly blend all these experiences into journeys that stay with you for life.
India's 2nd most visited monument — 97,000 light bulbs, royal Dasara procession (UNESCO cultural heritage) and Brindavan Gardens musical fountain.
Vijayanagara's 26 sq km ruins — Vittala Temple stone chariot, musical pillars, Lotus Mahal and boulder-strewn Tungabhadra River landscape.
Scotland of India — Arabica coffee estates, Abbey Falls, Dubare Elephant Camp, Nagarhole tiger forest and unique Kodava warrior culture.
Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach — pristine Konkan coast plus the ancient Mahabaleshwar Shiva temple, quieter and more spiritual than Goa.
Bandipur National Park (Project Tiger) and Nagarhole — tiger, leopard, elephant herds, wild dog, gaur and 300+ bird species in the Nilgiri Biosphere.
Belur Chennakeshava Temple, Halebidu Hoysaleshwara — 12th century star-shaped temple platforms covered in 1,000+ intricately carved friezes.
Mullayanagiri peak (1,930 m — Karnataka's highest), Baba Budangiri dargah, Hebbe Falls, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and premium estate-grown coffee.
Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal — Chalukya dynasty rock-cut cave temples (6th century CE), Pattadakal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in North Karnataka.
Best time for Karnataka — cool weather (15–28°C) ideal for Mysuru Palace, Hampi ruins, Gokarna beach and Bandipur wildlife safari. October is magical — Mysuru Dasara festival (10 days) illuminates the palace with 97,000 light bulbs and culminates in a royal elephant procession on Vijayadashami. November–February: Hampi is at its most comfortable, tiger sighting rates rise at Bandipur and Nagarhole, and Gokarna beaches are perfect for swimming.
Monsoon transforms Karnataka's hills — Coorg (2,500+ mm rainfall) becomes breathtakingly lush, Abbey Falls and Iruppu Falls roar at full force, and Chikmagalur's coffee estates gleam in rain-washed green. Jog Falls (India's second highest waterfall) is spectacular only in monsoon (July–September). National parks (Bandipur, Nagarhole) remain open. Hampi's boulder landscape turns dramatic but some river crossings close. Best for waterfall chasers and nature lovers.
Plains Karnataka gets hot (32–40°C) but Coorg (22–28°C) and Chikmagalur (20–26°C) remain pleasant. March–May is peak tiger sighting season at Bandipur and Nagarhole — dry vegetation forces wildlife to water holes, making sightings near-certain. Ugadi (Karnataka New Year, March–April) is celebrated with special temple rituals, mango and neem flower chutney and family feasts. Safari bookings for April–May should be made 90 days ahead.
Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR) — direct flights from 30+ countries including Dubai, Singapore, London and Frankfurt. Mangaluru (IXE) serves the Konkan coast. Hubballi (HBX) and Belagavi (IXG) serve North Karnataka. All major domestic airlines connect Bengaluru to every Indian city.
Bengaluru City (KSR) and Yeshwantpur are major hubs — connected to Delhi (Rajdhani, ~33 hrs), Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Mysuru, Hubballi, Mangaluru, Belagavi and Hospet (for Hampi) are well-served junctions. Shatabdi trains connect Bengaluru–Mysuru (2 hrs) and Bengaluru–Chennai (5 hrs).
NH-44 (Bengaluru–Chennai, 350 km), NH-48 (Bengaluru–Mumbai via Pune, 1,000 km), NH-75 (Bengaluru–Mangaluru, 350 km). Mysuru is 145 km from Bengaluru (3 hrs). Coorg is 250 km (5 hrs). Hampi is 340 km (6 hrs). Well-maintained expressways and state highways connect all major tourist destinations.
