As dedicated tour operators in Kerala, Tour Venture India brings you the full splendour of God's Own Country — a 600 km coastal ribbon of unmatched natural beauty, ancient culture and warm hospitality. Our Kerala tour packages cover the iconic trinity of the state's travel experience: the legendary Alleppey backwaters where traditional houseboats drift through a 900 km network of lagoons, lakes and paddy-fringed canals; the rolling Munnar tea gardens at 1,600 metres in the Western Ghats, carpeted with the finest orthodox teas in India; and the palm-fringed beaches of Kovalam and Varkala on the Lakshadweep Sea coast.
The Alleppey houseboat cruise is the defining experience of any Kerala tour. Traditional kettuvallam (rice boats transformed into luxury floating villas) move through the Kuttanad region — the only place in India where farming is done below sea level — past village life, toddy-tapper coconut palms, white Chinese fishing nets and ancient churches. Vembanad Lake, the longest lake in India (96 km), mirrors the sunset in gold and rose each evening as your private houseboat anchors for the night amid absolute silence. Our Kerala packages include premium, budget and deluxe houseboat options with Kerala seafood meals cooked fresh on board.
Munnar in Idukki district is India's finest hill station for tea lovers — 80,000 acres of tea estates managed by Tata Tea and Kanan Devan Hills Plantations stretch across the High Range. The Eravikulam National Park shelters the critically endangered Nilgiri tahr (mountain goat), and the Rajamala grasslands burst into purple Neelakurinji flowers once every 12 years (next: 2030). Thekkady Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Idukki offers a unique boat safari on the Periyar Lake — watching elephant herds wade through the water at dawn is among India's great wildlife moments. The sanctuary also offers bamboo rafting, border hiking and spice plantation visits.
Beyond landscapes, the state offers Ayurveda — the ancient Indian healing science practised in its most authentic form here, with resorts in Kovalam, Kumarakom and Thrissur offering complete Panchakarma programmes. Kathakali dance performances, Kalaripayattu martial arts demonstrations, Onam Sadya feasts on banana leaves, the world-record Thrissur Pooram elephant procession and the communal Attukal Pongala festival (the world's largest gathering of women) round out an experience that is truly like no other in India. Trust our experts to design your perfect Kerala holiday.
900 km backwater network — cruise Vembanad Lake and Kuttanad canals on a traditional kettuvallam with Kerala seafood meals on board.
80,000 acres of Western Ghats tea estates at 1,600 m — Eravikulam NP Nilgiri tahr, Rajamala Neelakurinji, Top Station viewpoint.
Kovalam's Lighthouse Beach, Hawah Beach and Samudra Beach; Varkala's dramatic red laterite cliff-top beach — both with Ayurveda resorts.
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary — boat safari on Periyar Lake watching elephant herds, tigers, gaur and sambar at dawn among spice plantations.
Authentic Kerala Panchakarma — Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Kizhi, Pizhichil — at internationally accredited Ayurveda resorts in Kovalam and Kumarakom.
Chembra Peak (2,100 m), Edakkal Caves (3,000-year-old petroglyphs), Banasura Sagar Dam, Soochipara Falls and coffee-spice estate stays.
Kathakali classical dance, Kalaripayattu martial arts, Mohiniyattam dance, Thrissur Pooram elephant festival and Fort Kochi heritage quarter.
Sabarimala Ayyappa, Guruvayur Krishna Temple, Padmanabhaswamy Temple (Trivandrum), Attukal Bhagavathy and Thrissur Vadakkumnathan.
Best time for Kerala — lush green post-monsoon landscape, full backwaters, cool weather (22–32°C). Ideal for Alleppey houseboat cruises, Munnar tea walks, Kovalam beach holidays and Thekkady wildlife safaris. Onam (August–September) brings the Snake Boat Races on Vembanad Lake and the grand Sadya feast. Christmas and New Year (December–January) see Kerala at its festive best — churches lit up, carol services in Fort Kochi and beach parties at Kovalam.
Warm and dry (28–36°C in the plains) — excellent for Kovalam and Varkala beach holidays, Fort Kochi sightseeing and Thekkady spice plantation tours. Munnar and Wayanad remain pleasant (20–25°C) even in summer. Thrissur Pooram (April–May) — the world's greatest elephant festival — draws 1+ million spectators. Vishu (Kerala New Year, April) is celebrated with special temple rituals and family feasts.
Kerala receives India's heaviest monsoon — lush forests, roaring waterfalls and overflowing backwaters. Monsoon is traditionally the best season for Ayurveda Panchakarma — the skin is most receptive during rains, and resorts offer special packages at 20–30% lower rates. Athirappilly Falls (Kerala's Niagara), Soochipara Falls (Wayanad) and Vazhachal Falls are spectacular June–August. Onam Snake Boat Races (August–September) are the most exciting sporting event.
Kochi (COK) is the busiest — direct flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Bahrain, London and Singapore. Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) serves Kovalam and south Kerala. Calicut/Kozhikode (CCJ) serves Wayanad and north Kerala. All connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore by major domestic airlines.
Kerala has excellent rail connectivity via the Konkan Railway and southern rail network. Major junctions: Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam (Kochi), Thrissur, Kozhikode, Palakkad and Kollam. Kerala Express (Delhi–Thiruvananthapuram, ~41 hrs) and many superfast trains connect the state. Alleppey has its own railway station — easy direct access to backwaters.
NH-66 runs 700+ km along the Kerala coast from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. Bangalore to Kochi is 560 km (7 hrs via NH-544/Palakkad). Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram is 700 km (9 hrs). Within Kerala, state KSRTC buses and private cabs connect all major tourist destinations efficiently.
Within Kerala's backwater region, KSWTD (Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation) operates the scenic Alleppey–Kollam boat journey (8 hrs, through 96 km of backwaters) — one of Asia's greatest boat rides. Fast speedboat and shikara services connect Alleppey to Kumarakom and Kottayam.
