Nestled in the extreme north-east of India, Nagaland is a land unlike any other — a mosaic of 17 indigenous Naga tribes, mist-covered hills, ancient warrior traditions and breathtaking natural beauty. As leading tour operators in Nagaland, Tour Venture India crafts immersive Nagaland tour packages that take you deep into this remarkable state — from the moving Kohima War Cemetery to the wildflower paradise of Dzukou Valley, from the spectacular Hornbill Festival at Kisama to the remote Longwa Village that straddles the India-Myanmar border.
The crown jewel of Nagaland tourism is the Hornbill Festival (December 1–10), held annually at Kisama Heritage Village near Kohima. All 17 Naga tribes gather to showcase their traditional dances, warrior attire, indigenous games, handicrafts, and the fiery flavours of Naga cuisine. Our Nagaland tour package during the Hornbill Festival is the most sought-after experience — a riot of colour, culture and community that has no parallel in India.
History buffs are drawn to the Kohima War Cemetery, one of Asia's most significant World War II memorials, where 1,421 Allied soldiers rest — their sacrifice remembered in the immortal epitaph: "When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today." The Battle of Kohima in 1944 was a turning point in the Burma Campaign, and the cemetery, maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, is a deeply moving experience for every visitor.
Adventure seekers love the Dzukou Valley trek — a high-altitude valley between Nagaland and Manipur blanketed in seasonal wildflowers, rhododendrons and lily meadows. The Japfu Peak (3048 m), Nagaland's second-highest mountain, rewards trekkers with panoramic views over rolling Naga Hills. Our expert guides and customised Nagaland packages ensure every traveller — from culture lovers to wildlife enthusiasts to honeymooners — discovers the magic of this extraordinary state.
India's biggest tribal festival — 17 Naga tribes, 10 days, December 1–10 at Kisama Heritage Village.
Asia's most moving WWII memorial — honouring 1,421 Allied soldiers of the 1944 Battle of Kohima.
Wildflower paradise at 2,452 m — rhododendrons, lilies and seasonal blooms carpet the Dzukou Valley floor.
Unique village on the India-Myanmar border — the chief's house literally straddles both countries.
Nagaland's premier wildlife reserve — elephant, clouded leopard, hornbill birds and rare orchids in dense forest.
Explore Angami, Ao, Sumi, Konyak and 13 more tribes — each with distinct language, attire, dance and tradition.
Nagaland's second-highest peak at 3,048 m — epic sunrise treks, rhododendron forests and panoramic Naga Hills views.
Smoked pork with axone, bhut jolokia (world's hottest chilli), fermented bamboo shoots and rice beer zutho.
The best time for Nagaland tour — cool, dry weather (10–22°C). Hornbill Festival (Dec 1–10) at Kisama is the highlight. Ideal for Kohima sightseeing, Dzukou Valley trek and Longwa Village visits.

Heavy monsoon rains (1,800–2,500 mm) make trekking difficult. Lush green landscapes perfect for photography. Moatsu Festival (Ao Naga, May) and Tuluni Festival (Sumi Naga, July) are cultural highlights during this period.
