A Beautiful Bhagirathi Riverside Village with Apple Orchards and Mountain Views
Dharali is a scenic village on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, located between Harsil and Gangotri (about 78 km from Uttarkashi). It is one of the most beautiful spots on the Gangotri highway, with the turquoise Bhagirathi flowing swiftly through a lush valley flanked by massive Himalayan peaks. Dharali has several apple orchards and small resorts/homestays.
The village is an ideal stopover and rest point for pilgrims and trekkers heading to Gangotri. The surrounding landscape — apple trees, pine forests, and snow-capped peaks with the rushing river below — is strikingly beautiful. Dharali is less developed than Harsil but equally scenic, offering a more off-beat experience in the Harsil Valley region.
