High-Altitude Trek Camp at 3600m on the Adi Kailash Yatra Route with Stunning Views of Om Parvat
Nabhidhang is a high-altitude meadow and campsite at approximately 3600 metres in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, located on the Adi Kailash (Chota Kailash) yatra route. It holds the distinction of being the last inhabited Indian settlement before the border with Tibet on this route, and is renowned as the single best viewpoint from which to see the sacred Om Parvat (5945m) — the peak where permanent snow forms a natural OM symbol. On clear mornings, the OM symbol is strikingly visible from Nabhidhang, making it a profoundly moving sight for pilgrims and trekkers alike.
Nabhidhang is reached by a jeep road from Gunji (the main ITBP checkpoint) which itself is accessible from Dharchula. A small KMVN tourist rest house and basic camping facilities are available at Nabhidhang. The campsite sits in an open meadow surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and the Kali river valley below. From Nabhidhang, trekkers can proceed further toward the Adi Kailash base. An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for all visitors beyond Dharchula on this route.
May to June and September to October for the yatra season. The Om Parvat snow OM symbol is most visible in early morning on clear days. Route is closed November to April.
